Read below a short description of
some of the successful projects developed by the Technosoft
Engineering:

High torque direct drive elevator application
A leading elevator manufacturer wanted to develop a new generation of products in which the main traction may be either a direct drive high torque permanent magnet synchronous motor, or an induction motor. Technosoft Engineering designed the H/W
prototype of the DSP Control Board containing a
microcontroller and a TI F240 DSP that talk to each other via
a dual-port RAM memory. We also designed the complete S/W on
the DSP that controls the brushless, respectively the
induction motor, in a fully digital closed speed and current
loop implementation.

High precision brushless sensorless control for laser fan application
An end customer producing equipment for the semiconductor industry needed a brushless drive to run a fan inside the laser chamber, with extremely high precision and with no speed or position sensors available. The drive supplier called Technosoft for the sensorless control solution. Technosoft Engineering
designed and implemented a high stability sensorless algorithm
on our target IMMC240 controller board that was plugged on the
supplier's power stage. Tests at the end customer's location
have shown a speed stability of +/- 3 rpm from the 3000 rpm
nominal speed, meaning an amazing 1/1000 speed control
resolution in sensorless mode.

High precision speed control for laser printer application
A leading laser printer manufacturer had asked Technosoft for a feasibility study including prototypes for a new fully digital brushless motor drive. The motor had only Hall sensors and the application required extreme stability at a high nominal speed. Technosoft designed different versions of
H/W and the S/W prototypes using TI F240 and F2406 DSPs.
Customer test have shown a performance of 1 rpm stability when
driving the motor at 30000 rpm nominal
speed.

Automotive design for sensorless control brushless pump application
A major supplier for the automotive industry developing a new pump system contracted Technosoft for the complete H/W and S/W design of the electronic control board. Technosoft Engineering took only four months to complete this project after which we shipped fully tested prototypes that passed the automotive engineering validation requirements. For a sensorless application in the automotive environment, a critical task - besides assuring the robustness and the reliability of control algorithm - was to start-up to nominal speed in a quarter of a second, after a temporary power loss due to contact vibration. During this period the motor tended to lose synchronism and the DSP control board was in danger of losing the logic power. Technosoft has adapted its
MotionChipTM technology to implement the solution based on
which the design validation process carried out by the
customer is in its final
phase.

Critical life support application developed around the MotionChipTM technology
A medical equipment company asked for a customised version of our MotionChipTM to cover a high precision sine-cosine encoder. This special sensor is mounted on a motor running a blood pump included in critical life support medical equipment. The product passed all medical standard approval processes.

Custom IPM640 intelligent servo drive engineered for military specifications
A company from the defence industry requested a customised version derived from our standard IPM640 servo-drive series to pass specific industry test conditions and requirements. Technosoft re-engineered the board and delivered the new products that comply to military specifications. We also adapted the MotionChipTM technology inside the new product to deliver 62.5 kHz PWM frequency.

Sensorless solution allowing pressure regulation w/o pressure transducer
A heating system manufacturer wanted a sensorless control solution for submerged brushless motor driving a water pump. The cost constraints furthermore required it to be able to regulate the pressure in the heating system without a pressure transducer. Technosoft Engineering worked closely with the customer and succeeded to deliver a new product derived from the standard IPM100 servo-drive series. A special algorithm was developed on top of the brushless sensorless control implementation, allowing a cost-effective solution for the regulation of the system pressure.

Low cost brushless sensorless control for dental medical equipment
An OEM customer asked for a low cost robust sensorless solution controlling the brushless motor inside the dental drill. The cost and robustness were the critical factors of the project. The customer expectations were met allowing him to replace the previous technology with DC motors that were making the final equipment to suffer because of constant service needs. Technosoft Engineering designed an open frame credit card format brushless drive powered by the sensorless algorithms mastered by the MotionChipTM technology. The sensorless control implementations allow robust speed regulation in the whole range from 500 to 40000 rpm.
