Intelligent Motion at a Quick Step : IDS240/640 Stepper Drives

 With Technosoft’s new IDS240 and IDS640 Intelligent Stepper Drives based on the latest DSP controller technology, you can save time and money and get on the market faster.

 The IDS240 and IDS640 are two new members of the Technosoft family of fully digital motion controllers with embedded intelligence.

 These high-performance intelligent drives combining motion controller, drive and PLC functionality in a single compact unit (136 x 85 x 26 mm) are designed to control step motors (in open or closed loop) up to 640W, over a wide speed range. The IDS240/640 provide high level single- or multiple-axis control functions such as master-slave or standalone modes. Open-loop operation allows up to 256 microsteps/step. Torque, speed or position controls are available using incremental encoder, SSI or EnDat feedback. They can drive up to 8 A continuous and 15 A peak currents, at a supply voltage ranging from 48 to 80 V_DC.

 Multiple-axis distributed motion control is ensured by the embedded CAN controller providing up to 1Mb/s of communication speed, or by the RS485 serial interface. In stand-alone operation, the IDS240/640 can be handled using programmable I/Os or analog inputs to control the stepper drive function. The drives are programmable in the high-level Technosoft Motion Language (TML). They can execute locally stored TML sequences, or on-line TML commands, sent by a host through CAN, RS485 or RS232.

 Powerful graphics tools will help you to easily set up, tune and program the motion sequences specific to your application, on the user-friendly Motion Studio software platform. With setup/tuning wizards, motion-definition and real-time data logging tools, you’ll be amazed how fast you can get on your way with real intelligent motion.

 Flexibility and easy implementation make the IDS240/640 an ideal solution to your need for modern motion axis control using the distributed intelligence architecture. Versions for other power ratings, or for brushless/DC brush control, are also available.
