IDM240 and IDM640 Intelligent Servo Drives   –   240 W / 640 W, CAN / CANopen

IDM240 and IDM640 are fully digital high-precision servo drives with embedded intelligence and a built-in 240-W or 640-W power amplifier. Used to control brushless DC, brushless AC (vector control), DC brush, linear or 2/3-phase stepping motors, these high-performance intelligent servo drives combine motion controller, power amplifier and PLC functionality in a single, compact unit.

The on-board CAN-bus interface allows this type of drive to be used as an intelligent axis in a distributed-intelligence, multiple-axis network (up to 256 axes).

The motion programming can be done via PC or PLC using the appropriate motion library, or directly at drive level using the high-level Technosoft motion language (TML) of the built-in motion controller. Motion programming at drive level helps you to save development time with complex applications, by distributing the intelligence between the master and the drives. The effect is a reduction in the number of tasks performed by the master, which can call motion functions that are pre-stored in the drive memory, or trigger their execution via I/O signals.

  • RS-232 or RS-485 serial communication, up to 115 k baud rate
  • CAN bus with Technosoft TMLCAN protocol, or CANopen (DS301, DSP402)
  • Operation in multiple-axis structures, via CAN or RS-485 communication channels
